Athletic Sports

Our Athletics Sports are fast approaching. This year due to the increased numbers at our school we will be splitting the sports over two days. The field events and sprints will be held on day one Tuesday 2nd August and the long distance and relays will be held on day two Wednesday 3rd August. Not all students will be out participating in the sports at the same time on these days but students will need to wear appropriate sports clothing and HOUSE colours for both days.
Day one will start with the opening ceremony and whole school marching at 9.05am. This is a visual treat to see the whole school marching together as one in their house col-ours and we would encourage parents and families to stay and watch. All students will be involved in this part of the day.
Day 1: Tuesday 2nd August
9.05am to 9.15am - All grades – Opening ceremony and marching
9.20am to 12.45pm - Grade 3 to 6 students will be participating in the field and sprint events
11.55pm to 3.00pm - Grade 1 and 2 students will be participating in the field and sprint events
12.20pm to 3.00pm - Grade Prep students will be participating in the field and sprint events

9.50am – 10.20am – Grade 4 distance races
10.20am – 11.00am – Grade 3 distance races
11.30am – 11.55am – Grade 2 distance races
11.55am – 12.20pm – Grade 1 distance races
12.20pm – 12.45pm – Grade Prep distance races
1.00pm – 1.45pm - Lunch
1.50pm – 3.05pm - Grade Prep to 6 relays
A full timetable for both days will be in the week 3 newsletter.
We would love to see as many parents as possible supporting their children on one or both days.
PE and Sport practice
All students have been practising the various athletics events during P.E. classes and classroom sport this week. As we will be practising these sports a lot more over the next couple of weeks, it would helpful if the children could wear suitable clothing and foot-wear every day.
