What a fantastic day was had by all at our Centenary Celebrations on Sunday March 25th 2012. We estimate that over 500 people enjoyed the sunshine, wandered through our classrooms looking at memorabilia from years gone by, caught up with old friends, enjoyed lunch by 'Enjoywine', savoured the coffee and homemade slices and participated in various children's activities.
A huge thank you to Nadine McWilliams who did an outstanding job of coordinating a very special day. Special thanks to Libby Kennedy and Brooke Vadlja for coordinating the spectacular Centenary Dance Presentation of music and dance through the ages. The children did a brilliant job, looked amazing and obviously enjoyed the experience judging by the smiles on their faces. Special thanks to Emma Lord for the many hours she spent putting together the beautiful Centenary booklet. Also a huge thank you to Ross Morey and Deidre Jaensch for great assistance they gave in preparing for the day.
We would also like to thank our guest speakers: Deidre Jaensch (School Council President), Les Birch (Former student), Leigh Adams (Former student and current parent) and Richard Wood (Former Principal) for their valuable contributions.
Thank you to the mornng and afternoon tea coordinators, Sonia Forrest and Jacey Piscioneri, their team of helpers, Kylie Adams, Sina Cavallo, Linda Brown, Leslie Cattanach, Deidre Jaensch and students, and all the parents who contributed cakes and slices for the day. Thank you to parents and students who manned stalls and also the parking attendant dads. Thank you to Metaxia Driscoll who was here as the sun got up on Sunday morning together with the staff ensuring that the school was looking fantastic and ready to go for the day.
I would like to acknowledge the professionalism and dedication of every single staff member who were all here early supporting the event and worked tirelessly all day, leaving when everything was packed up!
And a final thank you to our current students and families. Our students did an outstanding job as tour guides. Your support on the day was overwhelming. We were very proud of our students who all looked fabulous in school uniform and all conducted themselves beautifully.
