Student Absences

With the colder weather many students (and staff) are getting sick, If your child is not coming to school it is important to notify the school before the day or as soon as possible on the day of absence. There are a number of ways that this can be done;
  • Email your child’s teacher
  • Message your child’s teacher using SeeSaw
  • Email the school’s email
  • Phone the office
All absences need to be recorded and with the correct reason for the absence. We thankyou for your assistance with this.

Staff Carparks

Please do not access the school via either of the staff carparks. A new fence has been erected around the staff carpark along 15th Street. It is dangerous to walk through areas where vehicles are driving and we have plenty of access points to the school that eliminates the need to walk through the carparks.

Same day notification of Student absences

The Department are implementing School Attendance Guidelines that will be effective from the end of Term 2.
The guidelines require all parents to notify the school prior to or on the morning of a student absence. Schools will be required to make contact with parents as soon as practicable on the day of an unexplained absence. At this stage our preferred means of contact regarding your child’s absence is by emailing your child’s classroom teacher directly. You can also email the school email account or phone the office.

Medication and Medical Action Plan

If your child requires medication whilst they are at school, the medication needs to be taken to the office by the parent or guardian. The school can only administer medication if we receive it from an adult. Dosage and times need to be clearly labelled on the medication. Children should not have medication in their bag.
Medical Action Plan
If your child suffers from asthma, anaphylaxis or allergy, we require an action plan that has been filled in and signed by your doctor. Asthma action plans need to be updated yearly. Medical alerts are communicated with all staff and we take these very seriously.
