BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Program at ISPS in 2017

Welcome back to the 2017 school year. We are very excited about the year ahead, with the opportunity to undertake some exciting teaching and learning with your child. We had great success with the B.Y.O.D. program in 2016 and will once again use technology to support our learning.
The discerning use of digital technologies in the classroom can maximise learning opportunities. Students learn how to engage with the world around them, connect, collaborate, access information and acquire digital skills to participate in life and work.
Personal devices also enable schools, students and families to link the formal learning of a classroom with informal learning at home and outside of school.
We understand that not everyone is going to participate in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program, therefore school owned devices will be available for students when they are required.
Due to the school requiring a new certificate to the Department of Education, we will once again need to follow through a process of important dates and details. Please take note of the information below:
Friday February 3rd – A pack of information will be sent home. This will include links to connecting to our Meraki management system, along with the ability to connect seamlessly to our wireless network. Students and parents will also need to sign some agreements for the 2017 school year. All paperwork will go home on this date. Monday February 6th – We will be once again having a launch day, where every student is required to bring their iPad to school. School staff will be collecting the serial numbers of each iPad, which allows us to safely store all information for security, whilst also allowing the ability for distribution groups to be set up for the deployment of school apps.
If you are looking to purchase a new iPad for the 2017 school year, we recommend the following options:
OPTION 1 – Apple iPad mini 4 (16 or 32 GB WiFi)OPTION 2 – Apple IPad Air 2 (16 or 32 GB WiFi)
These can be purchased from a store of your own choice or JB HI-FI have once again set up a portal for parents. This has been customised and specifically designed for our school. If you would like to check out what JB HI-FI can offer, follow the below steps:
*Enter our school code (ISPS2017)
*Select the student program (Please note ours is listed as Year 0-6)
*Follow all the prompts and select a payment method
*Complete the pre-order and choose delivery or in-store pick up

All children are required to wear school bucket hats in the school yard at all times from September 1st through to April 30th. If a student does not have a hat they must sit under the shade outside their class door or sit under the shade sails in the eating area. Our school actively supports Sunsmart policies. School hats are available to purchase from Lowes.

New Lunch Order Menu

We have been in consultation with the Irymple General Store about offering healthier options for the children. This term there will be a new menu to choose from which has already been proven to be quite popular last year. Lunch orders will be available on Wednesdays and Fridays.
