BYOD

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
We believe technology is a powerful tool that enriches and enhances both teaching and learning.
By providing students with access to digital devices anytime, anywhere, we create opportunities for learning that is interactive, differentiated, and collaborative.
As educators, we play a vital role in guiding the integration of technology to maximise its impact—ensuring it is used purposefully and responsibly to support effective teaching practices, deepen student learning, and prepare young people for the demands of life and work in a rapidly evolving world.
1:1 Learning Model
At Irymple South Primary School we value our 1:1 learning program where each student has access to a device to complete learning tasks.
The preferred model at Irymple South is based on:
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) – Grade 3, 4, 5 & 6 students bring their own iPads which are either purchased or leased directly by families.
As part of our BYOD policy transition, Prep students in 2026 will not be required to purchase or bring their own device. Instead, they will have access to school-owned and managed devices. Grade 1 and 2 students will continue to bring their devices during 2026 while we complete the transition. From 2028 onwards, only students in Grade 3 and upwards will be required to bring their own device.
Purchasing options are available through the Learning with Technologies (LWT) and JB Hi-Fi portals. Use the links below to access the relevant portal and compare prices/devices. Alternatively, you can purchase a device from your chosen supplier. The recommended minimum specifications are:
